The Way To Be: A Journey to Happiness

How often do you feel truly happy? What gets in the way of feeling that everything is just fine in your world?

One day, many years ago, my friend Sophia Kroll, a lady you’ll probably find me mentioning again in my blogs, said, “All you really want is to be happy.” She was an astrologer, medium and tarot card reader. I can’t remember exactly what we were talking about that day, perhaps it was my astrology chart, or a card reading, but I do remember I felt kind of deflated when she said it. What I really wanted was for her to tell me ‘how’ I would be happy. What would I have to do, and what would I need to have, to achieve this state? I confess that I didn’t give much thought to possible answers, except maybe, might I win the lottery!

Fast forward a few years to a bookshop where I was working part time. During a quiet period in the shop, I picked up a copy of Neale Donald Walsh’s ‘Conversations with God’ and started to read it. In its pages, I discovered the elusive answer to Sophia’s statement, or at least the core foundation of everyone’s journey to happiness.

I started to work on a book that I called The Way To Be: which I’ll shorten to TWTB from now on. Ideas came, got written down, then amended. A file built, it kept expanding, but somehow life kept getting in the way of actually doing anything with it, such as actually publishing it. So, I thought I’d share it with you here, bit by bit, alongside other insights into energy healing and tarot reading.

The Way to Be message in a nutshell

The mantra of TWTB is this: BE –DO -HAVE

From an early age we believe that ‘Having’ will make us happy: but the toys, the pony, the new clothes, the car and the house are only temporary sources of happiness. Soon we are looking for something new to make us feel what we think is happiness. And so on it goes; it’s an endless addiction to finding that ‘thing’ to produce the buzz.

But if you make BEING happy the foundation of your life, you’ll DO things and create experiences that keep this foundation rock solid, and then you’ll HAVE the experiences that satisfy you in body, mind and spirit.

Sit with that idea, and then we’ll look at how to change the way you think about what is happening in your life. Mostly it is about how ‘thought’ works, changing your thinking, and understanding the massive influence that FEAR has on us. That’s one of the biggest blocks to being happy.

Until next time…

Be Kind, Be Love

Thank you! This blog totally resonates with me. I had already come to the conclusion that possessions don't make you happy and made big changes in my life - but conquering the fear is going to be interesting...
